       First let me point out that there are many higher education opportunities and not all of them are college, especially for those that are in the arts. I've seen the work that goes into theatrical training and I've seen artists crash under the pressure of the education system. I believe education, predicated under the paradigm of the way it is now, dampens creativity and forces artists to put themselves in a box. Not only does it stifle an artist's creativity, but also provides additional roadblocks which may deter people from reaching their end goal. If one decides to endure the ever-changing goal post of higher education standards for his or her dream job, he or she will need to spend exorbitant amounts of money and sacrifice years of their life to meet standards that are more or less arbitrary depending on the profession. Does one really need a master's? If so, what's to prevent a master's degree from becoming just as diluted as a bachelor's degree? ...

  I personally believe the comparison between Tobacco and fast food is too severe to say fast food is the new tobacco. Although, I do think that the government can step in by giving more regulations to the fast food industry. For example if the fast food industry is under regulation to have a minimum of five items on their menu that are healthy foods. In this case to count as a healthy food the transparency in what is in the item would need to be clear. The calories and healthy benefits should also be proven and that could help with obesity in America. This would help to actually have healthy options that can be obtained at a convenient price. Pop culture is a good thing. It is an ever-changing culture, developing based on what is popular at a given time. Pop culture can create communities and subcultures within pop culture. Creating these communities while still defining generations is quite the feat. With each generation, there are new defining parts in pop culture. Anime is definitely a subculture of pop culture that has taken off with generation z. I remember when people were made fun of for watching things like anime and now it's cool. These subcultures are one thing that sets pop culture apart from other cultures.  One of the biggest things in pop culture is superheroes.   I learned to read and write in school. There wasn’t anything in particular that inspired me, it was just what you learn in class. My family is very serious about education so I always took it very seriously as well. My earliest memory of reading was being sorted in reading levels in the class. It was in the first grade and I was okay at reading in my head but I hated reading out loud because I would fumble and mess up the words or say the wrong words altogether. Since the only way to test your reading level was to read out loud; I was put into the lowest reading level despite having no problem reading smaller chapter books. My teacher saw the books I would read in my free time though and eventually put me into a different group. In my elementary school when you are in kindergarten you learn your ABCs then you start on vocabulary quizzes. You then start to read lines like “the cat sat on the mat” and throughout the summer I read more and more till I could read those small chapter ...
